So, today was pretty awesome. For several reasons.
The first being that I got a super big surprise in the mail...well...it really wasn't a surprise. I knew it was coming. But I didn't realize it would be as awesome as it was!
Yes. A letter from Miss Grace Sapp (who is in Dublin as I speak...er...type) Filled with some amazing pictures...of inside jokes. An awesome letter that made me laugh very hard. And sheet music.
Of my most favoritest song. "I see the Light" from Tangled. *wiggles*
She also sent along some earrings...
That are *so* awesome! Prolly the most awesome earring I have ever gotten in the mail...(actually I think they're the *only* earring I've ever gotten in the mail...but that's not the point. heehee!) (oh, and excuse the bad quality of dat pic...I was to busy wiggling to take a good one :P)
Sooo...besides that awesome surprise...we went strawberry picking! and are going to have strawberrry shortcake for dinner...*drools* so yummmmyyy!!!
AND, last, but not least...
My dress! Which...yes, it doesn't look like a dress...at all. But, it makes me uberly happy to work on it, because it's coming out very nice. And the yarn makes such neat stitches!
And yes...for any knitter who may have connected it, that is the same stitch pattern that is used on The Bubble Top. Because it was the Bubble top that originally inspired this wonderful design. I'm really hoping it'll come out like I want it to, because it'll be so stinking adorable if it does! Wheeeee!! =D

of knitting
It's been awhile since I last posted knitting pics, but I have been busy of late and have several newish things!
My newest one is The Bubble Top as Miss Grace likes to call it. I just finished it last Thursday and really, really love how it came out! It actually took a really long time to make. I started it back in Feb. when I went to Cali, but the back gave me a ton of trouble, so it sat and got dusty for some time. But then I finally picked it up and finished it! Here are some pics-
yeah, I really like it :-) and it fits nicely, which is always nice.
Next, is a cute little shrug I made on the way to Ohio for Malachis graduation from Cedarville (it was an awesome weekend, btw).
The pattern name is Leisle...but I haven't named mine yet. Any ideas?
yeah, I like it :-)
Third one...I actually finished this awhile ago, and took pictures awhile ago, but it took someone *cough cough, not saying any names, cough* forever to get them to me.
I was, and still am haha, very in love with this yarn. Berroco, Vintage. All of Berroco's stuff is just amazing, but the color I got was seriously to die for. Really love this sweater! It's obviously just a little to warm for it now, but I did get to wear it a few times this spring, and I'm looking forward to wearing it more in the Fall!
I have a few things I'm working on now. One is a shawl (that I really need to get going on again, heh) that's going to be a wedding gift for a friend. The pattern and yarn I'm using are totally her, and I'm really happy with how it's coming out! Pictures to come...possibly.
I also have two designs going. Well, one I started awhile back...and it's been giving me some trouble. But that's ok, because that's what happens when you do your own designs!
This was it in April-
I know that doesn't give the best idea of the design...but, it gets the colors best, and also shows the stitch I'm using on the back. It's gonna be a little shrug, and I'm really hoping it'll turn out like I want it to!
I'm also starting a dress. I had this amazing design come into my head at work the other day. So far I have about two rows on the cap sleeve done haha! But I'm hoping it'll come out like I want it to. :-)
And that, my friend, is my knitting life.

The trip to Cali
For those who don't know, I got to go to California this past week to visit my sister, Angel. It was super awesome fun, I'm actually still here as of the moment, but I'll be flying home tomorrow. Anyway, the pictures are here, and so I thought instead of having Angel email them all to me, I may as well do a post with the pictures, and it'll be so much easier and will actually get done. So, I will not burden you all with long tales of fun in the sun, I'll simply just put a few pictures that highlight the week.
Knitting, of course.
Doughnuggets! These things are amazing!
Eva-Bear. We're best buds.
San Diego Zoo!
The SUNSHINE!!! I don't think it ever got above 65 which was kind of a bummer, but at this point anything is better then CT which is always below 30 with three feet of snow everywhere.
Holding an elephant on my hand... You don't get to do that everyday!
Getting all dressed up and going to a really awesome play of Jane Austen's "Emma". It was made into a musical, and was so cute and funny! Very well done, and it was such a fun night!
Going to Old Town!
And last but not least...
Hanging out with my crazy, awesome, fun, gorgeous, and super fantastic sister Angel! She's so awesome to have put up with me for a week, and it was totally one of the best weeks ever!
Naturally these pictures do not cover everything, and really only give you a glimpse of what a relaxing and fun week I had. It was definitely one of the best birthdays ever!

of knitting
I haven't posted any of my projects to recently, so I thought a knitting post was due. I have three to show. The first is of my Goodale which is complete! yay! I really like it, although I wish had split for the sleeves a little sooner.
The 2nd is my adorable baby sweater! I finally finished it, and was able to give it to my cousin on Sunday at his birthday party.
in the making....
and tada! so happy I'm done with it, but also very happy as to how it came out :-)
and last, but not least. These are actually my favorite :-)
Found the pattern on ravelry and just had to make some for my little Valentines sister who turned 7 on Monday! I am officially addicted to them and will be making many more. :-)
Hope you all had a very awesome Valentines day, filled with much love.

pure awesomeness
Yay for new books! My awesome Mom got me this super awesome book while she was in Cali.
yes, Charles Dickens. One of my very favorite authors ever. Gotta love him :)
So thick! and shiny!
There are five of his novels. Tale of Two Cities, David Copperfield, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, and Oliver Twist. I've already read David Copperfield, and who hasn't read A Christmas Carol? So what shall I read next?
Yup, Tale of Two Cities. while I knit. win.
So now that I've bored everyone with my over excitement of this awesome book, I'm going to talk about knitting! yay!!! *ignores the groans and clicking of the exit button from my readers*
knitting is awesome. So is the fact that the camera is back and I can now take endless pictures of my knitting.
Broke off the sleeves on my Goodale today and I'm now working on the body! yayay!
And a random picture of the pattern... because I thought it came out cool looking. And now I'll be done...

The broke, but happy, knitter
Happy holiday's and all that. Late, I know. But we were pretty busy around here with 11 people in the house, parties, yarn shopping, playing Mario Kart and all the other fun things you do during the holidays. I did have a really awesome break though, and I'm very sad it's over. But life is life, and it must go on.
Anyway, the point of this post is to put up pictures of yarn. So if you're not a knitter, you'll prolly find this really boring. (I hope all the link work by the way...tell me if they don't.) As I mentioned above, we went yarn shopping. Angel, Mom and I, that is. It was a lot of fun, but as the the title of this post implies, I'm a little broke now. :-/ But that's ok, because I have an awesome job :-)
This yarn was actually a Christmas gift, so I don't feel to bad about having it ;-) I'm going to be making the shawl with it. (The color is a little off, it's more pinkish then that.)
This yarn I actually got right after Thanksgiving. It was an awesome Black Friday deal :-) I'll be making "The bubble top" as Grace likes to call it, with it. I'm excited!
This is another Black Friday deal and I am *in love* with this color! it's so pretty! I'll be making the Talamh sweater with it.
So my favorite color is orange, but yet I have never knitted an orange anything. So while we were shopping I was debating what color to do one of the patterns I had. And Angel, the brilliant person that she is, was like "why don't you do it orange?" And so I got orange, and I'm looking forward to making (and wearing!) it. =)
Ok, the awesome blue yarn on the left I got for a cowl, only to find out when I get home that the cowl needs 2 skeins. So now it's just sitting in my stash waiting for some other use. But it's an uber pretty color that I love. The one on the right is for this shrug. I actually don't like it that much, but Angel convinced me that it would be fun to make it together... so we'll see how it goes.
And last but not least...
This will be for this adorable little shrug that I'm in love with! I'm so excited to make this!
And that is it I believe. So far I have started nothing because I already have two projects going, and I need to finish at least one of them. Plus most of the yarn is still in need of winding.
On one last note, look what I made the other day! =)
They were delish!

Ramblings of the day...
Let me just say right now that my favorite Christmas CD at the moment is MercyMe's Christmas CD. If you've never heard it, go buy it now. It's awesome. and yes, I like it better then Josh Grobans CD (runs and hides in bush)
Now that that's out there, I have a question for YOU, my reader. What will you be doing this holiday season? Besides stuffing your face with good Christmas food, opening presents, and having a jolly good time that is.
For me, I'll hopefully be doing two of my favorite things.
knitting and reading :-)
What am I knitting and reading at the moment? well, I'm still working on my KAL project and just LOVING the yarn more and more. I'm very happy with how it's coming out :-)
And I just started "Heart's Blood" by Juliet Marillier. so far so good, but I'm only 43 pages into it. I'll tell you what I think of it when I'm done. Last night I stayed up way too late finishing "Book of a thousand days". Great book. You should definitely read it if you like fantasy novels. oh! and guess what's waiting for me down at the library? "Cybele's Secret"!!! I'm so excited! but I will finish Heart's Blood first. I will. *tries to stand by my word* So yes, this holiday season will be filled with catching up on reading, and doing some knitting with Angel and Mom :-)
annyywaayyy... now that I've rambled on forever about books....
Tea is good. Especially when drank out of a Tinkerbell mug that's 8inches tall. (or more. that was just a guess and I'm too lazy to go get a tapemeasure)
and on one very last and random note....
this is probably one of my favorite movies ever. yup.

Knitting
So I know it's been forever since I last posted about knitting, and I figured it was about time I said something about it.
Right now I'm working on two projects (I know, only two! can you believe it??) One is an adorable sweater for my cousin for his birthday, which is December 23rd. But I only have about... an inch or so done, and it's taking forreevvverrr.... but I really was going to be very very good and not get anything and finish it in time... and then... well... yeah... I'm now working on a KAL (Knit along) with the Awesome Grace and the Awesome Emily. I'm very excited :)
Here is my beautiful yarn and the work in process.
and here is mine and Emily's yarn together
pretty pretty :)
Quote of the day (this made me laugh really hard)
Ethan comes into my room and see's the name of my blog "'A Small measure of coolness'? You have NO coolness Hannah, unlike me, I have wayyy to much"
yup, that's Ethan for you ;)
Hope your weekend was awesome!

14 Days of Thankfulness-Day 8
Day 8 is going to be knitting buddies. I can not tell you how much fun I have talking to a fellow knitter about knitting. It's so stinking fun, and your learn. which is good. learning is good. But yeah, thanks to all my knitting buddies out there, but especially to Grace Sapp and Angel Robblee (my amazing sister) because they're the two that I talk knitting with the most and we have lots of fun (or, at least I do ;] )

14 Days of Thankfulness-Day 4
Today I am very so ever thankful for....
*drum rolls*
measuring tapes! a knitters life would be in darkness and chaos if it were not for this handy little notion. so I am very thankful for them. but not just ANY measuring tape. no. but two in particular.
adorable, right? I love this little guy. a stinkin' lot. we've been through thick and thin together *tears* haha! but yeah, he's so cute and so useful. <3
Maybe this one looks really boring, but it brings back good memories :) when I was like 6 my mom would use it all the time when making things, and whenever she wasn't using it I would play with it. yeah, fun times =)
Now that that's been said... guess what?
my first turkey is DONE!!! and I am IN LOVE with him!!! he's sooooo adorable!!! I can't wait to make the other 4!!!

So my mom found this free pattern on WEBS (one of the best yarn stores ever!) today, and we all fell in love with it.
Adorable, right? Well, we decided that we just absolutely need one for our Thanksgiving table. But then me and Grace and Mercy came up with this awesome plan that we should make four. One for us, one for our aunt and uncle, one for Gramma, and one for Bump-bump and Debbie (our other grandparents). So I went out today (drove myslef!) and got the yarn.
I am very excited to make them :-)
On a side note, if you have never heard Josh Grobans "Higher window" you should go listen to it right now. It's prolly my top favorite song at the moment. And another note about music, Taylor Swifts new CD, Sparks Fly is quite awesome. go buy it if you don't already own it.

so a few post ago I put a picture up of something I was knitting, but I didn't tell you what it was. so here it is, finished.
I hate it. it's too big, the collar came out all wrong, I ran out of yarn while sewing the collar on, and it fits weird. thus, I am going to frog it and make something totally different. why am I sharing this very very depressing news? because it has a moral. knitting is NOT always satisfying. it is 98% of the time, but that other 2% it's not. but it's all good because I already have big plans for what I am now going to make out of this yarn. I hope it works. :)
I meant to post this Friday but never got around to it.
This is what I did all Friday afternoon (after an awesome viola lesson that is) If you have not read this book ("The lost hero" Rick Riordon) I highly suggest you do. It's amazing, along with all the rest of the other Percy Jackson books. (If you haven't read the other Percy books, you should!)
and if you've never had hot chocolate with whipped cream on top, well.... I'm crying for you. go have some now.
