It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
I am so super excited for tomorrow! like, yeah... super excited. and I hope you are all excited too because Christmas is super amazing :-)
Today is the day of cooking, so I figured I'd take a few pictures of all the delicious food that's in our kitchen at the moment.
this is the delicious poppy seed cake that I just made. (it's cooking now) This is actually going to be for tonight.
And these are the yummy looking 7 layer bars that Grace made. They're for Sunday when we have Christmas with the family.
We're also in the process of making Swedish meatballs for Sunday also, and if you've never had these, you're missing out. big time. They're awesome. (the picture came out blurry and I'm too lazy to take another, so I guess you'll just have to use your imagination.)
Tomorrow we're going to make Crackle cookies.
Hopefully they'll be as good as these ones :-)
And... I think that's all. So yes, I love cooking for Christmas!
Anyway... Hope your Christmas is an amazing one and that you remember what it really is about. It's not about getting, it's not about yummy food, it's not about YOU. It's about JESUS. So take a moment, (or an hour) and stop and think about what life would have been like if Jesus had never been born. Or, what life would be like if Jesus wasn't in your life. It's really mind blowing to see how much he's done.
Merry Christmas! :-)

chocolate, books, and other such goodness
I meant to post this Sunday, but I fell asleep and when I woke up it was time for youthgroup. oh the things sleep will do to you.. haha! anyway... I made these super awesome, tasty, delicious things for my dgroup.
mmm :) sooo good. pretty easy. all you do is put a kiss on one of those cool checker board pretzels, stick it in the oven till they're slightly melted, squish another pretzel on top, freeze and voila! the most delicious snack out there. sadly I don't have any pictures of them finished, but as I said, a nap took up almost my entire afternoon.
On another random note.... I went to the library today to "grab a book". and yeah... well. I came home with five, plus a movie. you gotta love libraries :)
see the bottom one? "what the dickens" how could you not resist checking it out? so far it's really dumb though. and not really that interesting.... but it's still a cool name.

14 Days of Thankfulness-Day 2
Today I am very thankful for coffee. I am a HUGE fan of coffee, in fact I find it very hard to make it through the day without it. Such as today. I sadly did not get my morning mug of coffee and by 11 I had a horrible headache. Thankfully I got some later :-)
yes, this is how I feel when I have coffee :-)
Hope your Saturday was awesome and filled with coffee! ;-)

14 Days of Thankfulness-Day 1
So I'm going to be doing this awesome thing were, for 14 days, you list something you're thankful for. And I got this idea from no other then the amazing Miss Grace. I'm very excited :)
So today is the first day. I was planning on doing something totally really random but that I am very thankful for, but then I saw this.
my awesome cat Leo sleeping in my bed. And I would like to say that I am VERY thankful for him, because he is such a cutie, even if he does bite me when he wants to 'play'.
Now that that has been said... I'm going to post some pictures from yesterday. I meant to do it last night, but then other things came up. such as knitting, and catching up on my two favorite TV shows, Bones and Psych. annnywaaayyyy.... yesterday we made cookies, and it was lots of fun :)
CHOCOLATE!!!!
you know you want some! oh wait, sorry. I ate them all already. to bad :p
the amazing chefs who put so much time and effort into the deliciousness of those cookies.
Hope your Friday is an amazing one!

Pie is GOOD!
So today I randomly decided to make a very delicious pie. because pie is good. and because this particular pie is the best kind of pie you can ever make. ever. It's called Toll House Pie and is pretty much a big chocolate chip cookie in a pie crust.
And here it is after!!! Yum!!!
Angel use to make this all the time and it was always my favorite! but then she left and got married and lives far, far away, and no one has bothered to make it since. But yesterday I had a sudden craving for it and decided it was time to make it again, so I did. And now I can't wait to eat it!
Here's the recipe for all you deprived people who now want pie.
Heidi's Toll House Pie
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup of butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts work well)
In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Beat in flour and sugar until well blended. Add melted butter and blend. Stir in chips and nuts. Pour into unbaked 9-inch pie shell. Bake 1 hour at 325`. Serve warm with ice cream.
Here it is before being cooked.
