That's a lie. clowns are evvviilllll... never trust them!

yup, it was fun. although it was so freezing cold out and I got really grumpy, but it was still fun ;-)

And so I am home, and I'm tired, and my shoulders hurt, and I really just want to jump into bed. But I also wanted to let you all know that I survived the concert! and it was tons of fun! I really really enjoyed performing. I think I did a pretty good job, although my G string was flat the second half of the concert. oh well. My teacher, Cynthia, did a very good Bach solo, I'm very proud of her *sniffles* ;-)

Sadly I didn't get a recording, but they might put one up on the website in a few weeks. if they do I'll post it up.
goodnight ya'll!

Stitches East

let me just start off by saying STITCHES WAS SO STINKIN' AWESOME!!!! it was a knitters heaven, for sure. So me and my mom got there and my jaw hit the ground. Imagine a room that's bigger then a football field. Now add about 200 knitters that are all walking around in knitting lala land. now add about 50 booths. and then, to top it off, everyone of those booths is *packed* with yarn.

ok, so maybe some of those numbers were off, but I think you get the picture. It was amazing! (Grace, I wish you could have been there, you would have *loved* it!)

So we pull in, and what's the first thing we see?

yup, this is my new dream car ;-)

The next few pictures are just random pictures I took so you could kinda get a look at what it was like. (sorry they're not too good. it was hard getting good shots in there!)

As to what we got.... I got mostly patterns because I didn't have tons of money (and you need tons of money if you're gonna buy an entire project)

We got these three awesome patterns at an amazing booth called....

Mom fell in love with this booth! and it was really great. It's a Irish family company. they make all there own wool. it was really cool! She's gonna do the one on the far left with the cables in this yarn---

It's gonna be so pretty! I really want to make all three. sometime. when I have a few hundred dollars floating around haha!

Another thing my mom fell in love with is this amazing yarn
it's kinda hard to see, but it's sparkly, but not like overly sparkly. and it's really soft! i love it!!! but yeah, she bought two skeins to make a scarf and I'm gonna buy some (in the future) to make this

it's gonna be over $90 to make it (the yarn is pretty pricey, but i think it's so worth it!) but the lady who owned  the booth said that if I sent her an email at the end of the semester with my report card and if it had all A's, she would give it to me for 50% off.  and she meant it for real. so I'm so gonna do it! (cuz I always get all A's)

Guess what else I got? (this was actually my only whole project I got)

tada!!! I love love love this! I've seen it on Ravelry for a long time (and the amazing Grace is making it..er... did? still working on it? haha! ;] ) so when I saw it at one of the booths, with the yarn right there, I had to get it!

So yes, that was my amazing Saturday. It was tons of fun.

Now just one last picture.

me and mom having way to much fun!

here's the webpage if you need it http://www.msoc.org/

Hope you can all make it!
I am very very sorry it has been forever since i last posted. I tried to like a week ago, but dumb Blogger wouldn't let me post any pictures. :(
so I'm trying again.

February Lady Sweater is done! For those of you who don't know the story behind this, this is a very special project. When my older sister Angel came out this May we went to one of the biggest yarn stores in America, WEBS. It's right over in Mass. if you ever get the chance, go! it's really awesome! annywaayyy... while we were there Angel, my Mom and I all decided we we're gonna make the same sweater in different colors and we're gonna wear them on (or sometime around) Christmas when Angel comes to visit again. So far, I'm the only one who has actually finished mine. Angel's is... in process ;)  and Mom is just finishing up another sweater she's working on and then she'll be starting hers. Here are the pictures of mine though. (yay! they actually did upload!)

I love the buttons!

so yes, it's all done. sorry i don't have any of it actually ON me... :-/

what am I making now?? well, I'll post a picture of my work. but you'll just have to wait until I finish it to see what it's gonna be

by now I have a lot more done, this was on the day I started it. I'm hoping to finish it by this weekend.

So, now that I've updated all my knitting projects I have some VERY exciting news! I found froggy!!! He's my amazing stuffed frog that I stole from my big brother. If you've ever been to my house I'm sure you've met him. But about a month ago I lost him and it made me very very sad. but today Ethan and Lydia found him! and my life is complete again. :)

So I know I've been making promises to certain people *coughGracecough* that I'd put pictures of things up. namely, earrings, yarn, and key chains. so here they are :)

there's the key chain and earrings, as you can see :P now you might be wondering why i didn't get a picture of the earring ON me. while... I tried to. and failed. I'm bad at taking pictures of myself haha!

And here is the amazing yarn I got at the big E! i LOVE it!!!! it's so soft and the colors are just gorgeous! I'm going to be making the Traveling Woman with it. hopefully... if i ever take time to print the pattern out ;-)

(here's a picture of what it'll hopefully end up looking like. just with my yarn)

and that is the end of this post. Hope you all had a good Thursday :)

Pie is GOOD!

So today I randomly decided to make a very delicious pie. because pie is good. and because this particular pie is the best kind of pie you can ever make. ever. It's called Toll House Pie and is pretty much a big chocolate chip cookie in a pie crust.

Here it is before being cooked.

And here it is after!!! Yum!!!
Angel use to make this all the time and it was always my favorite! but then she left and got married and lives far, far away, and no one has bothered to make it since. But yesterday I had a sudden craving for it and decided it was time to make it again, so I did. And now I can't wait to eat it!

Here's the recipe for all you deprived people who now want pie.

Heidi's Toll House Pie

2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup of butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts work well)

In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Beat in flour and sugar until well blended. Add melted butter and blend. Stir in chips and nuts. Pour into unbaked 9-inch pie shell. Bake 1 hour at 325`. Serve warm with ice cream.

gah! it's so good! Hope you all get a chance to make and enjoy it!
Save the Date!

October 30th, 2010 is my first orchestra concert! if you don't like classical music, don't come. If you do, then come! it's that simple. I don't want you to come just cuz you feel like you should support me and be miserable the entire time because you hate classical music. Only come if you'll enjoy it :)

We're playing some really awesome music. Beethovens 3rd, a Bach Concerto, and this other dumb piece that I hate and don't know who it's even by. But it's gonna be awesome :)

I know I didn't put the time up, that's because I don't know it. The schedule says 7:30 but I'm not sure if that's when I'm suppose to show up, or when it actually begins. I'll let you know when I find out.

these 10 things...

So my last post was a big hit. I got over 40 views (which is a lot for this lame little blog of mine) and a nice discussion that followed. this discussion is by no means over, so feel free to keep posting :)  and for real guys, thanks =)
but I thought I'd have this next post on a lighter topic. so I consulted with my good friend Plinky and they said that I should post 10 things that make me happy. After a long time of consideration i decided this was a good idea. So here I begin.

1) yarn. I know, I know... original. but it's true. very very true. yarn makes me very happy. the smell, the texture, the colors, ahhh.... it's just so wonderful! :')

2) shoes. same thing as yarn, they're just amazing. they're so stinking adorable and i love 'em very much and they can always make me happy. no matter what.

3) friends. I get very happy around friends. most of my friends tend to think of me as an overly happy person, believe me, I'm not. I just get really excited and happy around you guys.

4) Kids. they have this amazing ability of making me happy. the way they adore me, the way they think life is so simple and yet at the same time make the biggest deal out of tiny things. yeah, gotta love 'em.

5) Family. this is a weird one. because my family has this amazing ability of making me the biggest grump, and at the same time they can make me so happy. <3<3

6) books.  once again, the smell, the texture of the pages, the amazing story that's just waiting to be read. gah! i love books. a lot. especially really old copies that are super cool looking. they make me very happy!

7) inside jokes. they are the bomb. if you ever see me randomly laughing during the day when nothing funny is happening it's usually because i just remembered an amazing inside joke.

8) pajamas. life is a thousand times better when you're in them.

9) getting to drive. i always feel very happy behind the wheel. I'm sure this will pass.

10) funny words. like muscles. which should really be pronounced musicals. for real.

hope you all have an amazing weekend!
